AUGUST 2024 :: Bria’s Ministry Update :: Every Nation Campus :: Fort Worth, Texas
One foot on the Campus
Our prayer has been answered – I am a university-recognized campus minister at TCU!
After a tedious but worthy process, we are so blessed to not only be a student-led organization but also a recognized national campus ministry on TCU’s campus.
I am amazed at the open doors God has given. When He wants to provide favor, we obey Him and go where He asks us. As an associate with TCU’s Religious and Spiritual Life (RSL) on behalf of ENC, I am part of a team of staff tasked with assisting the chaplains in serving and ministering to students, faculty, and staff on behalf of our respective campus ministries. What we all do as campus ministers and our presence is recognized by this private university, making us an official part of the TCU community.
About 30 of us gathered for our RSL campus ministry retreat in preparation for the semester. I attended Frogs First, a week-long welcome program mandatory for new students from August 18 to 22, before classes began on August 23. Formerly a Longhorn, I proudly feel a part of the Horned Frog community after being a table leader at Frogs First Family Dinner and attending the Chancellors Assembly + Campus Commons Celebration with freshmen from my group.
As I learn about the campus culture and community, I am meeting with our chaplains, students, and other TCU staff to find places and ways we can minister to and serve the campus. I am praying God will give us open doors and that we will see salvation in different communities.
Our weekly ENC event is on Fridays at 6 p.m., where we play games and answer spiritual questions. We’ll engage new students in spiritual conversations and invite them throughout the week, whether by praying in groups or tabling (passing out invites).
One foot in the Community
At Mosaic Church Fort Worth, we have had ice cream socials! These outreaches have been great times of connection and reaching nonbelievers in our community.
Stay tuned for pictures from our next one and updates from our Campus and NXT GEN Sundays!
